Do any of you guys deal with coon-eyes? You know what i’m talking about; those dark circles under your eyes that make you look like you never sleep. There are a few causes of dark circles and I guess most of them are fixable. Lack of sleep, dehydration, bad eating habits, lack of nutrients; these can all cause dark circles under our eyes. But the one that’s the most tricky to deal with is when it’s hereditary. This is my issue, I’ve tried all sorts of measures to get rid of them. Concealers, eye creams, drinking more water, using a humidifier in my room. Some of these help a bit but not entirely.
I’ve gone through a few different eye creams, and other products from cost effective to expensive. There are so many to list but here are 3 of eye creams I have tried and my opinion on them:
Royal Jelly is known to have many benefits and nutrients in it, but for a topical cream It just didn’t do it for me. I also think I have a slight allergy to burt bees products, I find while using these products my skin feels more sensitive or irritated. I also didn’t feel like it help my um… condition much =_=”
For this one I decided to go all out and get a very expensive high end cream, just to see how good it can be. My verdict, it was just really expensive! I didn’t notice any drastic difference. It did come with a cool metal applicator though, which is supposed to cool the skin to reduce puffiness. The thing I liked about this one is that it also contains spf 15 which I don’t see too often in eye creams.
This last one is my favorite and it’s the one I keep going back to and currently use. It’s the only one I see that actually does work. It doesn’t completely remove my under eye circles, but I do see them diminish and be less prominent. I’ve gone back and forth from this one while trying other creams, but this one has been my favorite so far. I’ve used quite a few of Rodan + Fields products and I have really liked them all.
I’m also currently trying out an eye mask that is done 2-3 times a week, I just started using it about a week ago, It’s too early to tell if it will make a difference, but I’ll come back with a verdict on it. Also one of the women at the spa I go to mentioned to me that that staring at a computer screen for such long periods also can cause dark circles. It’s the first time I heard this, but I guess the strain on your eyes can cause it? Have you guys ever heard that before?
By now i’ve learned to accept my raccoon eyes as part of my features, I have dark circles… and I’m ok with that… most of the time. There is one more… drastic way to treat this and this is also somewhat invasive. There are some procedures I’ve briefly researched that can remove dark circles for an extended period using a cool laser and dermal fillers. It’s something I have considered but am not completely sold on until I do more research. It’s also pricey, ranging from 1.5 – 5k depending on the severity. Would any of you consider doing something so drastic? Has anyone done this?
